Steel products often come with manufacturing tolerances, meaning the actual thickness may vary slightly from the nominal (stated) size.
For example, a steel sheet listed as 1.9 mm may measure around 1.6–1.8 mm depending on the mill tolerance, production method, and coil specification.

1. EG – Electro-Galvanized
• Zinc coating applied by electroplating

• Lower corrosion resistance compared to GI & HDG

2. GI – Galvanized Iron (Hot-dip continuous coating)

• Steel is passed through molten zinc (continuous hot-dip line)
• Better corrosion resistance than EG

Use this when: moderate outdoor exposure.

3. HDG – Hot-Dip Galvanized (After-fabrication)
The entire finished product (plate, angle, pipe, grating, bracket, railing) is dipped into molten zinc
Creates thickest, strongest, and most durable zinc coating
Best for outdoor, industrial, coastal, or marine environments
More expensive but lasts the longest
Use this when: high rust protection is required.
